The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a not-for-profit education foundation established by the world’s largest and most progressive contractors and national trade associations to help address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry and to develop industry-driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials.
The mission of NCCER is to build a safe, productive, and sustainable workforce of craft professionals.
The NAWIC Education Foundation (NEF) was established in 1973 by the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NEF is an IRS 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, which means all donations are deductible as a charitable donation. A Board of Trustees governs the Foundation.
Since its inception, NEF has focused on construction education and offers a number of certification programs in partnership with Clemson University. NEF is proud to be named a Quality Education Provider by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
In addition, the Foundation has developed several programs and competitions to foster and promote construction as a viable career choice among students from grade school to high school.
In March 2007, following the resignation of the Executive Director, the NEF Executive Committee made the decision to move the office to Clemson, SC where the Foundation has a partnership with Clemson University's Center for the Improvement of Construction Management and Processes.
